Just like Collections, Genres and Actors are to Movies what Tags are to Posts: unlike Collections, Genres and Actors are meant to describe Movies content. Even though they are not used directly to organize movie lists, Genres and Actors allow you to find all your movies from a particular Genre or staring a specific actor.

Lets use the David Fincher example again to illustrate:

Movie Collections Genres Actors
Fight Club David Fincher Drama, Action, Thriller Edward Norton, Brad Pitt, Helena Bonham Carter, Meat Loaf, …
Se7en David Fincher Crime, Mystery, Thriller Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman, Gwyneth Paltrow, Lee Ermey, …
Alien3 David Fincher Science-Fiction, Action, Horror Sigourney Weaver, Charles S. Dutton, Charles Dance, Pete Postlethwaite, …
Zodiac David Fincher Crime, Drama, Mystery, Thriller Jake Gyllenhaal, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Anthony Edwards, …
The Social Network David Fincher Drama Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake, Rooney Mara, …
Depending on your settings, genres and actors can be automatically added when importing or manually adding a movie. See Movies > Settings > Taxonomies.
Manage genres and actors

Just like Post Tags, you can edit or delete genres and actors in Movies > Genres and Movies > Actors.

Use genres and actors

WPMovieLibrary provides an archive page that lists all your current genres and actors, accessible at http://yourdomain.ltd/genres/ and http://yourdomain.ltd/actors/ if you didn’t change the permalink in your settings.
